Mass Effect 3

The game was hyped up to me so much, so when I finally tried it (albeit it a very small portion of the game), it just didn't really impress me enough to go out and buy it right away. I may pick up the series in the future and play it then. However, a lot of you seemed to have been anticipating it.
So - does ME3 live up to your expectations? Was the ending epic, really depressing, somewhere inbetween?! Are you satisfied with the conclusion to the trilogy? Did you feel that overall, the gameplay, graphics, environment, story were improved from each game? Was there something that you wished they had done that they didnt?
Pick one or none or all - curious to hear what you guys think of it and figured these questions might help.

Sorry for the spam, I haven't played the game yet (I'm still finishing ME2
I do hope that I'll enjoy it though, I quite likes ME1 and 2 and have invested a lot of enthusiasm in 3...

I yet to play the series so I don't know. But from what I heard with the $10 dlc that is suppose to be a part of the storyline? I think that is really not cool of them to do that. I wish they just put that in the game already and not nickle and dime us afterward.
It's not a vital part of thegame, tho.
Also, just finished ME3. Now I have to go do things ALL over again...

But the rest of the game in-between I respect for the most part...minus the latter half of the main story. I'm hardly the biggest Mass Effect fan, my anticipation for 3 was pretty low (I basically rented it thinking: "I might as well, I played the the other two after all..."). But of the series, I'd say 3 is probably my favorite
Story is a hard thing to argue (you'll probably hear people say 1 is the best still, I'd say 3 personally as a whole. Next to nobody will say 2), the narrative scope is the greatest in 3 and I think the character interactions are far better than previous games, but it handled quite a few intriguing sub-plots REALLY poorly at the end, and the ending definitely made me roll my eyes. Regardless, it's an engaging game, I liked it far more than I thought I would, I would be tempted to say it's great...if the latter portions of the main story weren't so...*sighs*

Again I haven't played but I heard the character from that dlc was pretty vital?

I just watched the DLC on youtube myself. It shed a little back story but I definitely wouldn't say it's vital. The only real reason to buy it is to have a cool extra squad member and another gun. I'm glad I saved myself the 10 bucks honestly. I want to reiterate that the ending really sucks.Again I haven't played but I heard the character from that dlc was pretty vital?

The DLC character is actually a line of code you can just edit in yourself, though, which is pretty darn funny.
I has 360 version anyways.

Oh good idea, I could always youtube that. Didn't even think about that actually. I mean I don't plan on paying for that dlc. I think it is lame what they did. They won't be getting money from me.

Anyways, I though the game was fantastic...up until the ending.

He was only an ass if you let him be. I kicked his butt back in line about halfway thru.
I'll have to do that on my next playthrough because I couldn't stand him the first time around.

As for the multiplayer, it's okay. I'm not a fan of how they'll send multiple brutes and banshees after you even on 'bronze' difficulty.

I think it was mainly the fact that the game was so hyped up to me - then what I played was just so whatever, that I felt letdown and it made me not care to play it. Whether it was how I was expecting the game to be or it was a bad representation of the game, I am not sure of.

There were other things that annoyed me, I kept my relationship with Liara but she has the least amount of dialogue scenes compared to the others, which really annoyed me. The turrets sections were ok bu the turret was too slow.
I downloaded the From Ashes DLC before I played the game & I got to like him. But talking to him throughout the game I kept wondering why he wasn't put into the game. You learn alot about the Protheans and taking him to the Citadel is quite amusing, plua in combat he packs a punch.
But any nagging annoyance just gets overshadowed by THAT ending! It doesn't make sense, it contradicts the bits before, there are huge plotholes, and worst of all there is no closure! Out of any game this needed an epilogue!

What...the..fudge?! Is this actually true?
I mean is the ending so horrifyingly bad? It's the first time that I see this sort of thing happening... Is this a bit overboard?

"Amazon.com has stated that they will take the game back for an exact refund, even if the case has been opened and any code has been used. EA’s own digital distribution service Origin will also be refunding players. All they have to do is contact customer services and the game will be taken off of their account."

Personally I don't think Amazon has to do this at all. You buy the game, and whether or not you like something about the game is up to you. There is a risk to buying things and I think it is stupid that if you are not 100% satisfied then you can return it. I feel that a lot of people are going to take advantage of this. But it is a very nice PR move by Amazon.
