I've actually had a backloggery for a few years now, but I didn't start taking it seriously until late last year, and now it's really helping me to focus on beating (and even 100%ing) games in my backlog. It's kind of fun, actually, especially when you can compare your stats to your friends on there.

Never tried backloggery, but you guys have me intrigued! Is there a way to see others' accounts and what they're playing/working on beating? Does it take a long time to input your data?
Oh totally, Bink! If members don't make their accounts for friends only then it's really easy to see other people's Backloggery pages. For example, you see how Number 905, Jason, and Kezins have their GP signature showcasing some games they are playing? If you just click on that you'll be taken to their Backloggery page
Also, it takes about as long to input the data as ... well, how much stuff you have to input and how fast/slow you type. Unlike some other sites that let you "track" collections, there's no built-in web database so you have to type in the game name, select console from a list, choose if you beat/completed/etc it all on your own. When I did it it took a few weeks but Number 905 got it all done pretty fast.

That was actually pretty fun, cause you get to see how many Outlaw Golf games somehow got made.

But yeah, I usually do a decent amount of research when I get games, I have to tell myself if I really want the games I buy a lot of times and while logic doesn't always apply for me (mainly the necessary time investment part; like I'll buy two new rpgs while I'm already playing one...) I think it works well enough. I've done enough impulse buys to teach me that it helps to look before you leap, and while there is plenty of games that aren't easy to tell if you'll enjoy them (most of my favorites are games I certainly was unsure about), you can certainly use your better judgement for some games that aren't so hot no matter how you look at them...

It is an awesome tool, though, I agree :3 Maybe I WILL someday cut down my count of 479 unfinished games...

Holy cow did you say 128 ps3 games you have? I thought about using this site but honestly as most have said, it does take a lot of time to do it. But I try to finish all my game but work and school have gotten in the way. I know it is a waste to buy games and not play them. Only time I buy games now is if it is really cheap or I get them for free ie giveaway or from a friend usually. I just buy the game now if I want to play them or I can get to them, that way I won't waste money. At least I try to.
Yeah, I've definitely not finished a ton of games. I used to get games for free all the time when I worked as a writer, so I didn't pay for all of them. I trade with people a lot too. Now that I don't get free games anymore, I need to cut back on how many games I play and concentrate on finishing them.

Oh wow, I should really become a writer to get all these free games. Yea man, my ps3 collection is no where near that. I have like 6-7 games I think. But even then I yet to get through them all. I can't ever finish games fast enough.

Writing about video games isn't a bad gig. I got a ton of codes for DLC and downloadable games too. All the free stuff is what I miss the most about it.

Yea I love getting free stuff, I'm sure everyone does. That sounds like a great gig, that is something you can definitely do on the side. Work your normal job weekdays and on weekend game like crazy and get free stuff. Great deal to me.
