It might be a misnomer to call it a leak, because information unveiled from the May edition of CoroCoro has revealed a veritable geyser of information about Pokemon White and Black 2.

Two years have passed since the events of Pokemon Black and White, and the Unova region has seen a few changes. Much like Platinum was to Diamond and Pearl, the region seems to have gotten a bit snowier from the north and east. Opelucid City is just on the border of the ice, which seems to have a few openings.

Several cities have some new additions, and Castelia City's road to Nimbasa City is now complete.

One of the big mysteries that are answered is the cover Pokemon, which seemed to be a hybrid of the respective legendary Pokemon of Pokemon Black and White, Zekrom and Reshiram, combined with the third of the trio, Kyurem. It turns out that a "Black Kyurem" and "White Kyurem" exist. These two Pokemon have new signature moves, with Black Kyurem using Freeze Shock, and White Kyurem using Ice Burn.

Speaking of which, the Pokedex has been shifted around a bit to facilitate 300 Pokemon, including some Pokemon of older generations and some new ones. New player characters are revealed, and a new rival as well. This is likely in the spirit of Generation III and IV games, where a rival exists as well as the opposite sex trainer. Some pictures exist below.

Several gym leaders have also made the reveal, though names will likely change. The guitar-wielding gal in the image below is named Homika, and she is the Poison-type Gym Leader. Her gym is a Japanese-style "live house."

Another gym leader is the water-type trainer. Unsurprisingly, he's a swimmer. The name is Shizui, and he is referred to as the sort of guy who gives passionate advice.

The final NPC shown is a blonde man named Akuroma, who wears a lab coat and works with the latent abilities of Pokemon.

Information is revealed about the starting city: A place called Hiougi City. A Pokemon School and Pokemon Center are here, which brings it to three novelties for a Pokemon starting area. In previous games, the starting area was always a small town, usually with a lab and some homes, but nothing else, so this is quite different.

Pokemon Black and White 2 are planned for a release in Japan on June 23rd. No specific date is known for the US release, but it is estimated to be some time this Fall.

At least they continue the trend of the female trainers having amazing hair. This time, they took the Princess Leia buns, took a bicycle pump, and then inflated them.

I kinda thought it looked kinda like brown, puffy Sailor Moon hair.

Hey, as long as I live and breathe, they'll probably always have a fan base. I love Pokemon, so hopefully it lives at least as long as I do!

Remember the old Pokemon raps where they named the original 150 Pokemon. Loved those. And the Gotta Catch Them All but at the current amount of Pokemon & the constant additional someone would have to be crazy to even mention Gotta Catch Them All anymore. :D
